Plantin's story

Two brothers, Jean and Marius Plantin, farmers in the Vaucluse, decided in 1880 to produce, for their own needs, fertilizers first organic, then superphosphates, useful to their crops in Pernes les Fontaines.

Quickly, their production, extended to their neighbours, became too considerable to stay in the family's farm.

They bought in courthézon the factory called "de la Rolande" (old tile factory), attracted by the hydraulic energy of the course of the river which crosses the plant, and settled in 1905.

Advert given to the distributors in 1923

In 1922, they set up the company "Plantin Frères" which became in 1927 "SARL Plantin" and, currently, it's still the same.

In 1933, their children and grand-children took over the company?

Now, it always belongs and it's still managed by the family.
